I had to really debate whether or not I wanted to click through from my watch page, it looked so much like a snake, and snakes give me the heebie-jeebies. But you're right, it's definitely a weird looking fungus thing.

Thanks Will :). It's size....maybe 2 to 2.5 inches or so. I'm not really sure but I'll look the next time I walk past it. There was a whole group of them on the fallen tree and was large enough to catch my attention from several feet away.
